With over 16 years of experience in the healthcare sector, Nellie Nekouie has built a strong foundation as a broker, her expertise in pharmacy benefits management and playing a pivotal role in a healthcare technology company, where she contributed to developing innovative solutions aimed at improving healthcare access. She discovered her true passion in trauma informed care, leading clinical and behavioral health teams, focused on helping our homeless populations transition into stable housing and reintegrate into their communities self sufficient. She held state director roles and national roles with major insurance companies.
Having worked closely with underserved populations, Nellie has witnessed firsthand the flaws and inequities within the healthcare system. This experience instilled in her a profound sense of responsibility to advocate for solutions that can truly make a difference. Her introduction to health sharing came at a pivotal moment in her life, and after experiencing two major catastrophic events, she was astounded by the ease of use and the significant savings—over 80%—on her out-of-pocket expenses. This revelation fueled her commitment to raise awareness about health sharing as a viable solution for many.
Nellie believes it is crucial for everyone to be informed about alternative healthcare options, especially those who may be unaware of such resources. Driven by a desire to empower communities and put money back into their pockets, she passionately leads initiatives that prioritize healthcare access and equity for all, advocating for the direction healthcare should take to better serve those in need.
